Our Story
Family-Owned Farming Tradition
JNW farms is a small, family farm that is owned by JD & Naomi Weiss. We met in college at South Dakota State University where we both pursued degrees in agriculture. Our farm is currently located near the family farm that Naomi grew up on. Naomi is a 3rd generation farmer with extensive expertise in animal husbandry and medical experience. JD is a 1st generation farmer that has worked at multiple feedlots over the last 10+ years, learning the ins and outs of the industry.
Our farming operation started by selling beef as 1/4s and 1/2s. We felt that there were a lot of people we couldn't reach because of the large price tags and major storage requirements of purchasing bulk meat. But we wanted to help provide high quality beef to everyone, even those who buy their beef from the grocery store a week at a time. In 2025, we decided the best way to extend our business and help more people was going to be by getting USDA licensed to sell retail meat in the form of individual cuts, grocery store style.
Our goal is to build a farm that our family can be proud of and work in for generations to come. While we strive to provide top quality meat products, we also want to help educate and connect people to agriculture and where their groceries are sourced from.
